My Little Nest

So, today was the annual spend time with the sister bit. Her parents gave me this really nice jewellery and I don't know what I want to do with it. Anyone who has listen to me talk about jewellery knows that I have bitched about being unable to ind rubies (or at least ruby-like stones) set in silver. Well, they gave me a necklace an earring set, silver, with blood red stones. The problem is I hate them, and I don't want to acknowledge them and their gist at all.

But it's so shiny! I'm just...confused.

So, we did the usual shopping trip, and I indulged in retail therapy to make me feel better. It didn't really work.

So, after going shopping and eating at Arby's sister, Da and went to see a movie. Black Christmas. It was good, but who in the bloody hell keeps paint thinner in their laundry room? I mean really!

Also, am thinking on dying my hair purple...anyone who knows good brands or shades should let me know.

On another topic, thre have been quite a few of the old order-Girls trying to get me too come to the usual Order New Years soiree. I kind of want to go, and I almost said yes--I actually aked Da when Jessie offered to take me down and bring me back on he motorcycle, but Da thought there might be drinking and didn't realise that Jessie refuses to drik since her baby brother was klled by a drunk driver.

i told him this, and now he's okay with the idea, but I think the girls have given up. maybe it's for the best.

Yesh, I m well aware I haven't posted in awhile and I apologise. Nothing much going on, really. Although anyone who wants to call me between 3:00 and....8:30? Saturday would be welcome since I have to go see the doppelganger. >.< Yes, it's that time of year where I have to suffer through twin-sisterly togetherness.

Too bad I can't get really bleeding drunk beforehand. It might make it a bit more bearable.

So, Holidays went well, happily. Except for havinto sit through several church services and a girl butchering O Holy Night, but that's to be expected.

Anyway, my six-month campaign to go see Wicked is...stalled. I told my Da. His exact words?

Me: Da, guess what! Wicked's going to be in Philly over my birthday.

Buzz, said basically the same thing. *sigh* Why does everything have to go to Filthydelphia. (I was so channeling Mr. Boyer there, but I'm frustrated.)

On the upside, Da's getting me the sheet music for Yule to make up for it! (And I think the book, too.)

Stupid bloody insomnia...*growl* I know I don't sleep much, but damn it, some would be nice! I'm thisclose to trying to go to the evil Drs. to get something so I can sleep like a semi-normal person, but my hatred of Drs. is stopping me.

All in all, the 4th was nice. Ate yummy hamburgers and graham cracker pie with family while watching the craziness that is Passions because Buzz can't eat without the blessed TV on in the next room. Of course, it confuses the hell out of Da who has never seen this before.
Da: Is this a soap opera or what?
Buzz: Yeah.
Da: it's a bit off isn't it?
Me: Yup. It's mental.
Granny: They had two crazy women in a Christmas ornament once.
Da: Uh huh
And then I had to quote my favourite line ever, stupidly.
Me: Once, Tabitha, the blond lady there, was leaving her daughter with those people, there, and she had the greatest line. "Don't forget to read her her Harry Potter before bedtime! She just loves that Lord Voldemort."
*silence* Then...the fury that is the extended family begins the infamous and many times gone over 'Harry Potter debate.'
Me: *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* and a *facepalm* for good measure.
You'd think I'd know by now that when the big extended family is over to not bring up medicine, science, Council-crap, anime, or Harry Potter. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid Calypso!

Once the famil left, still squabbling, Da returned to the work he was doing on Granny's front portico-thing. When they had finished, it was 6:00 abnd I popped out of Buzz's computer room to see what the remaining v. close family was doing and ended up staying to watch reruns (obviously) of Green Acres and The Munsters we then had dinner, burned brain cells watching game shows and then Da set off the (sadly all legal) fireworks that we had bought. It was fun, all in all. Just as we finish and leave the Covenstead the sky opens up and it's all thunder and lightining. (Truly wicked) It was nice of Mama Nature to wait for us to finish.
And now? Insomnia. I'm going to go check my RPing journal now...see if anyone new has joined or the Mods have announced anything. maybe that will put me to sleep.
